Do you want to get more from your driving?
If the answer is yes then Refresher Training could be the solution. Most drivers have taken professional lessons with a driving instructor when learning to drive, but very few take further training after they pass their test.
With car technology advancing and driving conditions becoming more difficult, we all need to update our driving skills periodically to get the most from our driving.
When driving, do you ever find yourself:
- Having to brake sharply?
- Driving above the speed limit?
- Feeling anxious, tense or intimidated (e.g. when on the motorway or dual carriageway)?
- Regretting what you’ve just done (e.g. accelerated
through an amber light)?
Drivers develop their own driving style and bad habits over time, and many would fail the Driving Test if they re-took it today. Everyone can benefit from Refresher Training every few years to review and update their driving skills and attitudes.
Some of the benefits are:
More driving enjoyment
You’ll feel more relaxed and less stressed when driving and arrive at your destination feeling less tired.
Improved confidence
You’ll feel much more confident, both in your own driving and in your ability to
deal with the behaviour of other drivers.
Reduce your accident risk
Using better observation skills will allow you to react to potentially hazardous situations earlier, minimising the risks to you and your passengers.
Improved fuel consumption
You’ll spend less money on fuel by adopting a smoother and more systematic driving style.
Less wear and tear on your vehicle
You’ll reduce maintenance costs by using a more efficient driving style, reducing wear on brakes, tyres and clutch.
The training
The best way to start is to have a short driving assessment. This will be a drive (normally in your own car) to assess how you are driving at the moment. Don't worry, this is not a test.
After the assessment you will be given a debrief on what you are doing well along with some tips for improving your driving. If you have a specific area you wish to improve this will be assessed during the drive.
At the end of you first session we will agree a training plan which may include further training to develop your skills. Experienced drivers often find that a few hours professional training improves their driving immensely giving them renewed confidence to continue on their own.
